An Update On The (Q) Line And Introducing TST+!

Thanks to all of you for patiently waiting for our flagship release, the (Q) Line. For your continued support one of our developers, @Marco GZZ BVE has taken the liberty of creating a mini-release. It takes one of the oldest available NYCT OpenBVE routes and gives it some new life by adding TFOs (Track Following Objects, also known as non-player or AI trains) and a host of new sounds. This is the first of our new series of mini-releases to continue to support the community while you wait for our main projects. The video and links to the pack are available below.

As for the biggest question, "Where's the Q Line?" Don't worry, it's still in development (we know, we know). We want to make sure it is released in the best state possible. At this time, the route is nearing its Quality Assurance stage. This means we're vigorously testing every part of the route. What we're looking at:

  • Performance. How many fps (frames per second) do people get on the route with different types of hardware?

  • Bugs

  • Creating scenarios

  • Finalizing sound work

  • Adding/Removing some objects as the (Q) Line evolves IRL

While we still cannot give you a release date on the route, here's what we can do: Over the next few weeks & months, we'll be sharing some details and photos of the route, so all of you can know what's in store for when it finally releases. Join our Discord Server to be notified when new information is released and to participate in our future Q&As. We plan for this to be the biggest route release in NYCT OpenBVE history, and we do not want to disappoint.

TST+

The OpenBVE community is no stranger to community support. We, along with other development teams, jumped on the bandwagon and offered a subscription service through Discord. During that time, we experienced many ups and downs. Bad actors leaking content, spreading misinformation, and more. This led us to make the wise decision to switch to Patreon, a more secure way for people to support their favorite creators. While our Patreon page has now been live for a little over 3 months, we realized that we had never made an official post about it, explaining to all of you what’s offered with our subscription.

TST+ is our new subscription model and is designed to bring you closer to the content you love and to offer you exciting opportunities to contribute and be featured. Whether you’re a long-time supporter or new to our community, TST+ is your chance to dive deeper into our world and become an integral part of what we create.

What do you get with TST+?

The NYC Transit Community loves clout, and what better way to get it than by having your transit photos and OpenBVE screenshots showcased? As a TST+ member, you can submit your photos to be featured in our route’s loading screens, ad screens, and even on the front page of our website. The best part? Your username will be featured! It’s our way of saying thank you for being a part of our journey.

This is completely optional, however, and we want to inform all of you that the (Q) Line will be free for everyone. While you do miss out on being able to showcase your work and announcements, you gain a greater deal of variety as you’ll now hear different kinds of conductors on the route.
